Covid-19 & our visit to Atlanta
We were very fortunate to be able to attend the Modex exhibition just ahead of the COVID-19 World Shut down. We just made it. However we were there, we made a presence and people started talking…..”who are these people from South Africa?” All of a sudden there was interest as people were looking for alternatives to China imports.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic was at the centre fold of everyone’s conversation and obviously everyone was extremely worried about getting back to their countries. We made it on to the last place out of Atlanta, however, the experience was all worth it and with better planning, in two years time, we will attend again and make our mark.
Modex 2020
This month, our team attended MODEX 2020, a leading supply chain conference held annually in Atlanta, Georgia USA. Through seminars and exhibits, MODEX attendees gain value insights about the future of supply chain equipment and technology and lean how to stay ahead of the supply chain curve.
Thanks Enrico and Elen. We definitely made an impression and having learnt from this experience, next one will be formidable. ?
COVID-19 – PLAN OF ACTION
Having come back from overseas and realized the pandemic which we were going to face, Acrow members immediately got to work to implement safety measures throughout the factory and workplace.
You will notice strategically placed posters through-out the factory to explain how to avoid the spread of this incredibly dangerous virus.
The shut down did not come as a surprise and the 26th of March was the last day of work for the next couple of weeks.
The social media is overloaded with information with regards to this pandemic and we have created a committee on WhatsApp to ensure that all our staff is informed with regards to the latest information.
As management, we will endeavor to ensure that we get through this economic crisis as best we can, however having just been downgraded to “junk status” by Moody, one cannot help wonder what the future holds.
On a brighter side, the factory received a fresh new coat of paint and it looks superb. Not only does the factory look more professional it also seems so much neater and cleaner.

Projects
As you are all aware, we have been busy with a project in the Netherlands. This is a great achievement as it puts us in the league to play with the European competitors.
We have done well, despite all the difficulties and only the final last touches need to be completed.
